Gospel Joins Symphony 2025
Gospel Joins Symphony is a powerful celebration where orchestral and gospel music unite to uplift and inspire our community. Taking place just one week before Juneteenth - the June 19th holiday commemorating the emancipation of enslaved people in the United States - this concert carries deep meaning and cultural significance.
The evening featured the EN-RICH-MENT Choir, under the direction of Darius McBride, joining forces with the full Canton Symphony Orchestra and the dynamic J.W. Chorale. Produced in partnership with EN-RICH-MENT, one of Stark County’s most impactful youth organizations, this event highlights the transformative power of music and the arts.

Gospel Joins Symphony 2024
After 10 years, Ms Betty Smith decided to bring back Gospel Joins Symphony featuring a community gospel choir in partnership with the Canton Symphony Orchestra. Gospel Joins Symphony is an epic presentation of orchestral and gospel music coming together to inspire and uplift our community.
The EN-RICH-MENT choir, formerly known as VOICE, is organized by EN-RICH-MENT and directed by Darius McBride, former EN-RICH-MENT instructor and currently the Vocal Music Director at Westerville South High School in Westerville. The choir was joined by the Southland College Prep Charter from Richton, Illinois under the direction of Elizabeth Norman-Sojourner.
Dr. Henry Panion was the conductor of the Orchestra, and assisted by Matthew Jenkins Jaroszewicz from the Canton Symphony Orcehstra.
