The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally, and economically. The vision to provide leadership and voice for the arts to transform people and communities.
The Ohio Arts Council was created in 1965 to foster and encourage the development of the arts and assist the preservation of Ohio's cultural heritage. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations. This is accomplished through grants and by providing services to enhance the growth of the arts.

The Ohio Artist Registry (OAR) is an opportunity for artists to share their work, connect with the creative community, and establish an online presence on a free, virtual platform. The OAR encourages artists working in all art forms, throughout Ohio create a profile. Being listed in the OAR provides artists with new opportunities to share their work with clients, galleries, patrons, and audiences. Ohio Arts Beacon of Light Project
The Ohio Arts Council knows that creating community during the COVID-19 pandemic is more important than ever. After all, artists help us all process the world as it changes around us. The goal of the Ohio Arts Beacon of Light is to give Ohio artists a place to share, connect, and cope with the challenges presented by the coronavirus. Being a part of the project helps to inspire fellow artists and the public at large through sharing paintings, illustrations, and much more while giving our creative community a platform for connection, expression, and encouragement. Artists of all ages, working in all disciplines, are invited to submit their work through the Ohio Arts Beacon. Individual Artists Opportunities
The online Artist Opportunities Database represents another step the Ohio Arts Council's Individual Artist Grant Programs and Services office is taking to support the work of artists. This database provides a listing of local, statewide, national and international opportunities. The Artist Opportunities Database is available online to may maintain the most current information possible. The list includes festivals, grants, exhibitions, employment opportunities to more.
