Madam Vice President Kalama Harris

Kamala D. Harris is the Vice President of the United States of America. She was elected Vice President after a lifetime of public service. Harris has held numerous political positions such as District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General, Homeland Security Committee, and United States Senator.

On August 11, 2020, Vice President Harris accepted President Joe Biden’s invitation to become his running mate and help unite the nation. She is the first woman, the first Black American, and the first South Asian American to be elected Vice President.

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin

Lloyd Austin graduated with a B.S. from the United States Military Academy, an M.Ed from Auburn University, and an MBA from Webster University. He began his military service in 1975 as an infantry second lieutenant and advanced to a four-star general.

Austin received several awards and decorations during his military service. The Defense Distinguished Service Medals with Three Oak Leaf Clusters and Two Oak Leaf Clusters. Also the Silver Star which is the third-highest military decoration for valor in combat. The Senate confirmed Austin on January 22, 2021, as the first Black secretary of defense in U.S. history.

Amanda Gorman

Amanda Gorman is the youngest Inaugural Poet Laureate in U.S. history. The poet Laureate is one who has demonstrated exceptional leadership and inspires social justice through the spoken word.

Gorman graduated from Harvard University with cum laude honors, where she studied Sociology. Her poetry was spoken during President Joe Biden’s Inauguration. She has written for the New York Times and continues writing new inspirational books being published by penguin random house.
